Publicly committed to implementing FiTI since 2020, the government of the Republic of Cabo Verde recently announced through a decree the creation of the national multi-stakeholder group that will be responsible for collectively producing annual FiTI reports that provide an assessment of the accessibility and completeness of the government’s published information in accordance with the requirements of the FiTI standard. The appointment of this group represents a key step in Cabo Verde’s completion of the six registration steps required to join the FiTI.
The group will be chaired by Ms. Lolanda Brites, the national FiTI manager in Cabo Verde and a senior technician in the National Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of the Sea.
As for Mauritania and Guinea Conakry, the Regional Partnership for the Conservation of the Coastal and Marine Zone in West Africa (PRCM) supports the efforts of the government in this dynamic.
As a reminder, Cabo Verde had publicly committed to join FITI in March 2020 through a correspondence addressed to the President of the FITI Board of Directors.
